Best Vendors EVER

In reply to our email asking if everyone from July would like to take part in the August flea:

JUNCTION FLEA FOR LIFE!

Saturday 7 July 2012

See you tomorrow!

Tents are going up on the lot, spreadsheets are being triple checked and everyone is on the brink of a nervous breakdown. That means that our second flea of the year starts tomorrow. Doors open at 9, but we will be there at 6:30 slurping coffee and rubbing on the sunscreen.

See you bright and early!

Vendor Profile: WHITE FEATHER DESIGNS

In the winter of 2007, white feathers are what drew me to Mexico to study the art of Silversmithing. It was a short trip, but I took what I learned and made it grow into a full-time job. Many techniques are self-taught, but I have had amazing support through local jewellers and will always have gratitude for the man who taught me the skills most needed, recognized instructor, Billy King.
I have always been drawn to creating pieces from scratch, and have the ability to make a vision become reality. I was influenced by the best of both worlds growing up. My Mother, a Gemologist, taught me how to appreciate all the different styles of jewellery and is always teaching me valuable skills that are needed in the industry today. My Father, a cabinet-maker, taught me how to respect the machines that you work with, and by taking raw forms of material and turning them into works of art.

There is no better feeling than creating pieces of art with your hands and some essential tools. Each piece is handcrafted from raw materials of silver, copper, brass and gold. Dedicated to the environment, I am drawn to taking recycled pieces and using them in my jewellery. In my studio I always strive for a constant flow. In flow the emotions are not just contained and channeled, but positive, energized, and aligned with the task at hand. I’m constantly being inspired by the energies that surround me, and try to capture the true elements that nature offers. I believe that each piece I create has a story to tell, and so wear it proud and let it be told. Celebrate and Enjoy!!

Vendor Profile: TATTERED AND TORN

Tattered and Torn's owner Kim Davies style has evolved over the years.  Her inspiration comes from many forms of decorating that range from 18th century Swedish painted decorating to the French Chateau as well as the American Shakers where simplicity and plainness was essential. She achieves an elegant overall effect and you may have seen her booth (commonly refered to as "Mrs. White's Booth") at The Christie Antique Show .

Kim is also the only supplier of Magnolia Pearl Clothing in Canada. This clothing is reminiscent of times past, beautifully made and comfortable.
